Airtel, Vodafone, and Jio to hike tariffs by up to 40%

Days had gone when an Indian telecom operator forced every other telecom operator to charge ultra-low prices for Calling, Internet Data, and Messages in the past couple of years. But now, Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea have all announced their increased plans from this week onwards. Reliance Jio hasn’t announced its tariff plan exact details. However, Reliance Jio will raise it’s All-in-One (AIO) vouchers plans by up to 40 percent from December 6, 2019. Besides, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have already announced its new tariff plans that are ready to take effect from December 3, 2019.


AirTel

Airtel’s new tariff increase will come into effect from 3rd December 2019. The tariff plans increased by up to 40%. Post the new tariff rate, the current rate of Rs. 129 plan for 28 days with unlimited calling and 2GB of data will cost Rs. 148. According to the company, the same 28-day plan with unlimited calls, 100 daily/ SMS, and 2GB of data will now cost Rs. 148 instead of Rs. 129. Similarly, the plans worth Rs. 169 and Rs. 199 for 28-day have been merged, and a new pack of Rs. 248 has been added. Airtel, unlike Vodafone – Idea, and Reliance Jio have increased the 40 percent of their tariff.

Moreover, Rs. 448 and Rs. 499 tariff plans with 82 days validity will now cost Rs. 598 and Rs. 698 respectively. The Company said – the price of Rs. 35 recharges will far be raised to Rs. 49. Below is the attached image of Revised Mobile Tariffs for Airtel.

Vodafone – Idea

Vodafone – Idea is also increasing the prices of its prepaid services in India from 3 December 2019. It is supposed that the rise in their tariffs is because of the massive tax bill they received from the revenue department. The company has also announced new prepaid plans for its users ranging from 2 days, 84 days, and 1-year validity. The All-in-One (AIO) plans now start with Rs. 49 with Rs. 38 Talktime, 100MB data, 2.5p/ sec tariff and a 28-day tariff validity.

The Unlimited packs for Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) users will also be raised to 41 percent with 2, 28, 84, and 365 days validity.

Vodafone Idea Limited will also be providing two annual unlimited packs. These packs cost Rs. 1,499, and Rs. 2,399.

Reliance Jio

Reliance Jio also announced its new tariff plans with up to 40 percent raise, but here’s a catch. “The company will offer up to ‘300 percent more benefits’ than any other telecom operator”. These new plans of Reliance Jio will be unveiled on 6th December 2019 and come into effect on the same day.
