Besides the Pro variant, Oppo on Thursday expanded its Reno lineup with the launch of Oppo Reno 3 in China at an event on 26th December 2019. The device is said to be the younger version of Reno 3 Pro 5G variants. But the device stands out as the first-ever phones to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset. With the launch of this smartphone, 5G connectivity will be easily accessible to smartphone buyers at an affordable price.
The design and build quality of the latest flagship Reno 3 is similar to its Pro variant, excluding some of the features. The rear panel of the device is the same as the hyperbolic design and eye-catching colors. Although, this variant is slightly thicker at 7.96mm than the Reno 3 Pro 5G.
Oppo Reno 3 ditches the curved design, as well as the punch-hole camera. You can also see the waterdrop notch that sports a 32MP selfie shooter. It’s a 6.4 inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display panel also supports a 20:9 aspect ratio and a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2400, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
As for the Camera Specifications, Oppo Reno 3 camera gets an upgrade from the 48MP sensor to a 64MP sensor on the back. It’s also paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens up to 115-degree FOV, a 2MP mono lens. And finally a 2MP macro lens. The device also supports the new Ultra Stable 2.0 video mode for smoother video recording.
Reno 3 is backed up with the same 4,025mAh battery along with the 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging support the same as the Pro variant. The device runs on Android 10-based on ColorOS 7, which was unveiled last month, out of the box.
Oppo Reno 3 is priced at 3399 yuan (i.e., around Rs. 34,600) for its base variant with 8GB RAM +128GB internal storage. The high-end model i.e. 12GB+128GB variant is priced at 3699 yuan (around Rs. 37,700) in China.
Reno 3 is already up for pre-order and is on sale from 31st December.
