Reports: Huawei P40 Pro will offer a Periscope Camera with 10x Optical Zoom.
The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will be launched at an event in Paris next year. Famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has now shred some light on the upcoming smartphone from the company. In addition to the reports, The Huawei P40 Pro could offer a Periscope Camera with an optical zoom of 10x.
Kuo said that the P40 Pro would offer a redesigned periscope camera with a telephoto lens. And will be the world’s first smartphone with 10x optical zoom. Ming-Chi Kuo also hinted that the other high-end devices like Honor, Mate, and Nova would also have the 5x optical zoom camera in 2020.
The base version of the P40 will offer a 5x optical zoom camera, which will be similar to the P30 Pro. The three upcoming P40 series devices – P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Lite. As for the leaks, the Huawei P40 will sport a 6.57-inch of AMOLED display. Additionally, it also boasts a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly explains that Huawei will use two mirrors and a prism inside the camera of P40 Pro to achieve 10x optical zoom. In comparison to the P30 Pro’s camera, there was only a single prism that provided the 5x optical zoom capability. Single prism technology has been used by Oppo and is also expected to be baked in the Galaxy S11 series next year.
The device is expected to be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 990 SoC. And will offer 12GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
The flagship smartphone from Huawei is indeed confirmed to launch in March 2020, with a quad-camera curved display and a massive rectangular bump around the camera.
The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the device will be priced somewhat between CNY 4,000 to CNY 5,000 (approximately Rs. 40,500 – Rs. 50,700) in China.
