This App Helps De-Stress Your Eyes and Improve Vision

Nowadays, a smartphone application claims to be able to do a lot of things, and a new iOS app, Blink. It claims to be “Your first and only de stress eyes and improve vision wellness assistant”. It’s a free eyesight trainer with several exercises that the developer’s claims will strengthen your eyes and help reduce eye-strain.

Blink comes with a unique design that activates the peripheral vision and enables users to navigate the screen without directly looking at it. It is based on eye-tracking technology. It is made possible with the use of the TrueDepth camera system available in the high-end iPhones. Such as iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR, 11, and iPad Pro devices. It means it won’t work on other iOS devices. Though, the App Store page lists it as ‘compatible’ with different iOS models, including the iPhone SE models and even the old iPod Touch!

I would suggest giving this app a try and check if the app works by helping you de stress eyes and do this improves vision as the company are lists it as a feature.

Blink uses the iPhone’s TrueDepth camera to track eye movement, blinking, and winking. In an official Medium post that describes the working of the app, the developers said: “Our approach is to get raw data from TrueDepth camera sensor and use it according to individual characteristics of user’s eye and their unique movement abilities to help them de stress and improve vision. The goal of the Blink app is to help users with their peripheral vision and in the meantime help to de stress eyes functions. And helps them check the progress of their exercise without looking at the screen”.

The app was initially released on July 19 but has started getting a lot of attention recently. It was even listed as ProductHunt’s #2 of the day on Thursday, November 28th. It’s worth noting that the developers behind the app don’t seem to point any third-party scientific research. Besides, it’s fun to play around with, and the app is free without any in-app purchases so that you can check it out on the Apple App Store.
